She was born in Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico to Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. The mother of two is Mexican American and is American by nationality. Her passion for sports was born as a child. Gerina began playing golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina graduated from Goddard High School. In high school, she had won at the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. In addition, she was a volleyball player at the national level. 2003was the year she started her studies in The University of Texas. In the final seasons of her professional career, she had won every tournament that she participated in. In the course of her undergraduate studies she was awarded the title as Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Year.
