Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. She is the oldest child in a family of four. Audrey Tautou's parents who were a dentist as well as a teacher at school helped and encouraged her passion for acting as well as theatre. The initial goal of her of becoming a specialist in monkeys was replaced by a desire to study theater and drama. There was an immediate rise in her career to become a well-known young actress. Her career began in earnest in 1999 the year she first began performing professionally. Following her studies Tautou took part in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Although she studied at the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has distanced herself from this upbringing, stating she's not Catholic. She pursued a career in modeling alongside her acting career and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival, under the title Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on fame and celebrity and turns the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her after her meteoric rise to fame with Amelie and self-portraits. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major part in the film Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international hit, receiving accolades at awards galas around the world. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. The following year, she was a part of British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
